Where you are

Something changed, and now you are reading every word, silence, and expression for clues.

Fear makes most husbands reach for the same moves: more conversations, more reassurance, more promises, more explanations, and messages that say too much. Those efforts often create even more pressure.

And it keeps making things worse, and you can't work out why.

That does not make you a bad husband. It means you need a calmer plan before fear makes the next decision for you.

Which Situation Feels Closest?

Your situation may fit more than one. Start with the description closest to what is happening right now.

She Wants Space—or Has Left

She has asked for distance, stopped engaging, or is already living somewhere else.

She Had an Affair

An affair has been disclosed or discovered, and you are trying to determine what to do next.

She Wants a Divorce

She has mentioned divorce, contacted a lawyer, or papers have already been filed.

She Doesn’t Know What She Wants

She says she feels lost, confused, or uncertain about the marriage and her future.

Your Marriage Feels Cold and Painful

Conversation has become distant, hostile, or exhausting, and you do not know how to change it alone.

You Want to Be a Better Husband

You know panic, pressure, or old patterns are making things worse, and you want to respond differently.

Different situations, same starting point: separate facts from fear, stop pressure-driven mistakes, and build a plan around what you can control.

What this is

One private planning session, 75 to 90 minutes, by video or phone.

We work out three things: what is actually happening as opposed to what you fear is happening, what you're doing that's costing you, and exactly what you're going to do for the next thirty days.

Then I write it down and send it to you.

It isn't a course, a program, or a first step into something bigger and more expensive. It's one session and a written plan.

Your wife's participation is not required at any point. Everything in your plan is something you can do whether or not she engages, agrees, or ever knows there was a plan.

What you leave with

1
Three actionsSpecific, this week, and none of them dependent on her.
2
Three things to stopThe behaviors that are actively costing you, named plainly and without shaming you for them.
3
Direction for the first 72 hoursWhat to do, what to say once, and what not to decide this week.
4
A written seven-day planPersonalized. Contact, communication, and what to hold steady.
5
A written 30-day planWeek by week, so you stop deciding it again every morning.
6
A read on what's actually happeningSeparated from what you're afraid is happening. Most men arrive with a handful of facts and a great many conclusions. Sorting those apart is often the most useful hour of the whole thing.
7
A written summary within 24 hoursAll of it, in your inbox, so you're not relying on memory.
8
One 15-minute follow-upAbout a week later, included, to see what actually happened when you tried to hold the plan.

When This Isn’t the Right Help

I'd rather say this now than take your money.

  • You want techniques to change her mind. I don't have those and I wouldn't sell them if I did.
  • You want a guarantee she'll stay. Nobody can give you that honestly.
  • Someone in your home is in danger right now. That needs help faster and different from a planning session. Here's where to start.
  • You need legal advice or representation. I can't give either, and I'll tell you to get a lawyer.
  • You need clinical mental-health care right now. Coaching can sit alongside that. It doesn't replace it.
  • You're looking for someone to agree that all of this is her fault.

How it works

  1. You apply

Complete a short application. It takes about five minutes and costs nothing. I read every application myself.

  2. If It’s a Fit

I’ll accept the application and send you a private payment and scheduling link. After payment, you’ll complete a fuller intake so I can prepare.

  3. We Build Your Plan

We meet for 75–90 minutes by video or phone. We separate facts from fear, identify three actions and three things to stop, and build your plan.

  4. You Receive the Plan and Follow-Up

Your written plan arrives within 24 hours. A 15-minute follow-up about a week later is included.

Who I am

Colt Waagner

I'm Colt Waagner. I spent about a decade in ministry, including work as a pastor and Air Force chaplain, sitting with people through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

I've coached for five years. I hold two master's degrees, including a Master of Divinity, and I'm completing a master's in counseling.

I'm also a husband and father. My wife and I came from different countries and different backgrounds, and neither of us had a healthy marriage consistently modeled at home. We have had to build ours intentionally. Most of what I teach, I learned late and the slow way.

You cannot control her decision. You can change how you meet it.

What I am: a coach with a ministry background and graduate training in counseling.
What I'm not: a licensed therapist. This is coaching and education — not therapy, diagnosis, clinical treatment, or legal advice. Being partway through a counseling degree is not a license, and I won't present it as one.

The frame I work from

I'm a Christian, and I'd rather tell you that on the front page than have you find out later.

If your faith matters to you, it will be part of how we talk about covenant, patience, repentance, and what your actual part in this is. Scripture has a great deal to say about steady conduct under pressure, and most of it is more practical than people expect.

I also use current relationship psychology, because it's genuinely useful and because "just pray about it" is not a plan for Tuesday morning. The two are not in competition. Wisdom about how people actually respond to pressure is not less true for being studied.

What I won't do is aim Scripture at your wife. Faith is not leverage over another person's decision. Nothing here will tell you she is obligated to stay in an unsafe situation, to give up a legitimate boundary, or to respond warmly because you've started doing the right things. Her agency is hers. If what you want is a Bible verse that makes her comply, we're not a fit.

And if you're not a believer, you're welcome here — as long as you know that's the frame I'm working from. I won't hide it and I won't push it on you.

Your Founding Session

Includes my preparation, one private 75–90-minute planning session, your written seven-day and 30-day plans, a summary within 24 hours, and one 15-minute follow-up.

$197

Per session. Five slots available at this price. When they're taken, they're taken — I'd rather do five of these well than twenty badly.

What I Guarantee—and What I Don’t

What I Guarantee

By the end of the session, you will be able to identify your next three actions and the three behaviors you need to stop.

If you can’t, I’ll keep working with you for up to 30 additional minutes at no charge. If you still do not have a clear plan, I’ll refund your payment.

What I Cannot Promise

I cannot tell you whether your wife will stay, and I will not promise reconciliation. Her feelings, timing, and final decision remain hers.

You cannot control your wife's decision, but you can stop making fear-driven mistakes, become steady and clear, improve how you show up, and give the marriage its strongest honest chance.

This guarantee is about the clarity of your plan. It is not a guarantee of reconciliation, it does not prevent a divorce, and it promises nothing about how your wife will respond.

Questions

Can this help if my wife won't participate?

That's the entire point. Every part of the plan is built to be carried out by one person. She doesn't have to agree to it, know about it, or respond to it.

Is this therapy?

No. It's coaching and education. I have counseling training and I am not a licensed therapist. Where something needs a clinician, I'll tell you plainly rather than working around it.

Is this only for Christians?

No. I work from an openly Christian framework and I'm not going to pretend otherwise, but plenty of what we'll do is practical and doesn't require you to share my faith. You're welcome as long as you know where I'm coming from.

Can you tell me whether my wife will stay?

No, and I'd be lying if I tried. What I can tell you is what you'll walk away with: a clear read on your situation and a specific plan you can act on this week. What she does with her own decision is hers.

What happens after I apply?

I read your whole application myself, usually within 24 hours, and I write back either way. If it's a fit, I'll send you a private link to pay and book. If it isn't, I'll tell you straight and point you somewhere better. Applying doesn't guarantee acceptance, and nothing is charged unless I accept you and you choose to go ahead.

Why only five slots?

Because this is a founding price and I want to do five of them properly before I decide what this becomes. There's no timer on it. When the five are taken, I'll say so here.

What if separation or legal proceedings have already started?

You can still do this work, and you also need a lawyer — I'll say so plainly. Legal proceedings don't end the personal work, but they do change what's urgent, and your plan will be built around what's actually in front of you.

What if there's a protective order or another legal restriction?

Then it gets obeyed. All of it, every time, whatever anyone thinks of it. I can't give legal advice and I won't help anyone work around an order — questions about what an order permits go to your lawyer.

An order doesn't mean there's nothing to work on. If contact is forbidden, contact comes off the list and we build the plan around what remains, which is most of it: your steadiness, your own conduct, your children where the order allows, and what you do with the time. An order is your wife's boundary with a court's weight behind it, and we treat it that way.

What if you decide after payment that you can't responsibly do the session?

If information disclosed after payment shows that the standard coaching session cannot responsibly be delivered due to safety, legality or similar concerns, Colt may stop the process, refund the payment, and direct the client toward more appropriate help.

That's the policy in plain terms: if something comes up that means a planning session isn't the right help, I stop, you get your money back, and I point you toward what is.

What if I change my mind before the session?

Tell me and you get a full refund, whatever the reason and however close to the appointment. Things move fast in a marriage crisis and I'm not going to hold you to a session you no longer want.

How is my information handled?

What you write on the application and intake is used to prepare for and deliver your session. It is not sold, used for unrelated advertising, or disclosed to unrelated third parties. It is handled by me and by the service providers needed to run the website and deliver the service, and by nobody else except in the limited circumstances set out on the privacy page.

Two things I'd rather be straight about: I'm a coach, not a licensed clinician, so legal confidentiality privilege doesn't apply to our conversations. And if I believe someone is in immediate danger, I may act on that. You can ask me to delete your information at any time. You can also ask for a copy of it, or ask me to correct it. Fuller detail, including who processes it and how long it is kept, is on the privacy page.

If this isn't the right help right now

Marriage distress is painful and it is not the same thing as danger. If anyone in your home is being hurt or threatened, or you're thinking about harming yourself or someone else, that needs help faster than an application form.

In the United States, call 911 if anyone is in immediate danger. Outside the US, use your local emergency number and your country's crisis services — the lines below are US services and don't cover every country.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988. Free, 24 hours a day.
National Domestic Violence Hotline — 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788. It serves men.

To be straight about what this is: a website and a form. It isn't a crisis line, nobody is monitoring it, and I can't respond to an emergency. The numbers above are answered around the clock by people who do this every day.

You don't have to work out the next 30 days by yourself tonight.

About five minutes to apply. I'll read it myself and come back to you either way.
